Don Julio 1942 was created to commemorate the year that Don Julio González began his tequila-making journey. This luxury añejo tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave and is harvested at peak maturity after 7-10 years of growth.
The agave is slow-cooked in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours, then twice distilled in stainless steel pot stills. The tequila is then aged for a minimum of two and a half years in American white oak barrels previously used to age bourbon.
The result is a rich, caramel-colored tequila with notes of warm oak, vanilla, and roasted agave, followed by hints of tropical fruit, cinnamon, and chocolate. The finish is long and smooth with lingering hints of oak and caramel.
